For about three weeks every January and February, the Will Rogers Memorial Center and Dickies Arena in Fort Worth fill up for the Stock Show & Rodeo — livestock barns, carnival, and a rodeo that’s been running longer than most towns out here have existed. It’s a great event to bring people in for, and it’s also the one time of year an RV rental in North Texas is about staying warm, not staying cool.
Fort Worth is roughly a 30-minute run south of our Roanoke base down I-35W. The Stock Show grounds don’t have the kind of RV camping you’ll find at a lake park, so the play here is simple: base your RV at a nearby park or a friend’s property and drive in for your rodeo nights.
Rent for winter, not for summer
North Texas Januarys swing hard — a 70-degree afternoon can drop below freezing overnight. The RV you want for Stock Show season is one with a furnace that keeps up and good tank management for the cold, not the same rig someone takes to the lake in July. When you book with us, tell us it’s a winter trip and we’ll set you up with a unit that’s ready for it: furnace checked, tanks prepped, and heat running before you arrive if we’re delivering.
Why an RV beats three weeks of hotel math
If you’re coming in for more than a weekend — showing an animal, working a booth, or just doing the full rodeo run — a rented RV parked in one spot beats stacking hotel nights at winter-event rates. You get a kitchen for early mornings before the barns open, a warm place to regroup between sessions, and no daily checkout. For a family or a small group, one delivered rig is the cheaper, simpler answer.
Common questions
Can you deliver near the Stock Show grounds? We deliver across the DFW Metroplex — send us where you’ll be parked (an RV park, a private lot, or a property) and we’ll confirm we can reach it and set you up.
Do the RVs handle freezing nights? Yes, with the right prep. Book ahead and let us know it’s a cold-weather trip so we can ready the furnace and tanks before you take it out.
